Strengths-based Coaching Approach

You are naturally talented in MIGHTY ways.

I will help you recognize your strengths and see how to live up to your full potential.

I use Gallup’s CliftonStrengths reports as a foundation to discuss talents and strengths. Learn about CliftonStrengths to find out how it can help you!

Name it

First, you need to understand yourself. You will take the CliftonStrengths assessment, and we will explore what the results say about you. We learn and clarify terms, address questions, and share initial reactions.

Claim it

This is the deeper dive where you own your talents. I help you identify where your talents have shown up in your life. You learn to love how your strengths make you unique and powerful.

Aim it

This is where the magic happens.

We take a problem or goal and explore how to draw upon your strengths to achieve your desired outcomes. This takes brainstorming, goal-setting, action-planning, and hard work.

Hi, I’m Gregory.

I’m a Gallup-certified Strengths Coach and Myers-Briggs-certified MBTI practitioner. I also have experience in teaching, federal grants, budgets, and strategic planning. I obtained my Master's in Public Administration from Brigham Young University and Bachelor's degrees in German and International Studies from the University of Utah. I enjoy designing and facilitating productive meetings and retreats, and I get really excited when I see people's strengths in action.

My first job ever was my favorite job—I toured national parks with Japanese exchange students and engaged them in games, songs, and dances while we traveled and camped. What a dream! Since then, I have worked in elementary and middle school education, tutoring, youth counseling, career development services, a national laboratory, state government, and federal government.

My favorite roles are always when I work directly with people. I enjoy teaching valuable principles and seeing people grow as they apply them. My background taught me early on how to rally groups around a common purpose, create meaningful experiences, and highlight the value of individuals. It's all about people: I love to build them up!

I also love playing piano, conducting a church choir, and singing in a community choir. I think I am special because I'm left-handed like my grandfathers and have hazel eyes like my grandmothers. My ideal evening includes dinner, a play or musical, then plenty of time to discuss it over a sweet treat.

Just for fun . . . Feel free to check out some of my music!
